Papers and Presentations (updated February 1, 2010)

The official language for all oral and poster presentations is English.  All abstracts and manuscripts must also be submitted in English.

An abstract of no more than 450 words should be submitted electronically to the Conference Convener by July 1, 2009.  Abstracts must include the title of the paper, the author name(s) and institution(s) along with the telephone, fax, and E-mail address of the corresponding author. Please indicate whether you wish the paper to be considered for an oral presentation or a poster.

Electronic copies of the complete manuscript must be received by the Proceedings Editor no later than September 1, 2009.  Papers will be submitted to a double-blind review.  Authors will be informed of acceptance by February 15, 2010.  Authors will then be required to provide final copies of their paper by April 15, 2010. Late papers will not be accepted for publication in the conference proceedings.

Submitted papers must be not longer than 8 pages including all tables, figures, and references.  Formatting guidelines for abstracts and manuscripts can be found online at http://www.ishs.org/wri/pap1.htm and will be strictly followed.  Submissions that do not meet the formatting guidelines will be returned to authors.

The ISHS formatting guide can be found online at http://www.ishs.org/wri/guide.pdf

An example Acta Horticulturae manuscript can be found online at http://www.ishs.org/wri/sample.pdf

Oral Presentations

The duration of presentation is indicated in the scientific program and will be strictly followed.  We expect everyone to give their presentation in English using Microsoft PowerPoint.  No other visual delivery methods will be available.  We will be using Microsoft Windows on the computers so please ensure the presentations are adaptable if you use another operating system.  All oral presenters are required to provide their PowerPoint file in the Service Room at least 3 hours prior to their presentation.  There will be facilities for you to check your presentation.

Poster Presentations

The title and time of each poster presentation can be found in the poster program.  A poster board size of 90 x 120 cm will be provided.  All the posters will be exhibited on the B1 floor.  Posters should be written in English and consist of an informative title, self-explanatory charts, and figures with text describing the aim of the investigation, methods employed, results obtained and conclusions.  We kindly request poster presenters to stand next to their poster during the last 30 minutes of their session to answer any questions. Thank you for your cooperation.
