A primary purpose in the creation of the MSU Horticulture Alumni is to get together to meet new friends and reminisce with the old. The latest event is the MSU Horticulture Alumni and the Dept. of Horticulture tailgate party on October 16th in the Plant and Soil Science Conservatory starting 3 hours before game time. This is homecoming and the Minnesota football game.

We would like to know how many people to plan on for this event which will be a lot of fun. Good food and a chance to catch up on what is going on in the department and with each other. The cost is $10 per person and checks should be made out to the MSU Horticulture Fund. Please send your reservations in by Friday October 10th to the Department of Horticulture in care of Tracy at A240 PSSB, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI 48824 or send her an email indicating how many people will be coming. Even if you do not have football tickets this will be a great chance to meet friends and faculty and catch up on the past year. Last year's event was great and we would like to build upon our success last year. Hope to see you there.

Past Events
This past year we have had a few good get-togethers, starting off with a Pizza Party at Bob's house during the Hort Club's Spring Show weekend. We had about 25-30 people including soon-to-be seniors and recent graduates. We all met new people and enjoyed each other's company and brainstormed ideas for future events.

This summer, a few brave souls headed up North to the Leelanau peninsula to taste the fine wines of Michigan. We spent the day traveling from one vineyard to the next, tasting whites, reds and trying to remember what we had just tasted. We finished the evening off with a relaxing dinner in Northport and looked forward to our next adventure!
