Changes in the American population are creating changes in the demographics of American gardeners. While Baby Boomers continue to be a core customer group, many horticultural businesses are challenged to reach younger demographics. One "window of opportunity" is the Internet. Recent MSU research shows that the Internet is a tool for information gathering rather than making purchases, which is especially true for Horticulture. The basics for a good website were presented at the 2007 Michigan Greenhouse Grower Expo, as well as some information on terminology and potential uses for horticultural professionals.
